Toothache, bad breath, sore throat.

Secundary effects

Like most essential oils, tissue irritation problems can occur, and even reach the bone in the dental region. Allergy. Use as prescribed by a specialist.

Where does clove grow?

It grows mainly in tropical countries, in Africa and in South America (Madagascar, Brazil, Zanzibar, …).


– Clove essential oil (a spice) can be very useful in case of toothache, but consult a specialist (pharmacist, dentist), as this oil can also have side effects. If applied correctly, it is very effective in disinfecting and soothing toothaches. Some dentists still use it.

– During the Christmas period, carnation cloves are used especially in decorating or preparing special dishes and drinks (for example, teas). Star anise is another plant that is widely used in the Christmas period, particularly in Germanic countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein).
