fennel infusion

Use

– In case of digestive disorders, constipation , colic in babies , against bloating (flatulence)

Ingredients

For a cup of fennel infusion, use:

– 2 g (1 coffee spoon) of dried fennel fruits

– A mortar (useful to remove the essential oils contained in the fennel fruit, see below)

– About 200 ml of water

Preparation

– The first stage, recommended but not necessary, consists of grinding the dried fennel fruits in a mortar (photo), with a pestle, to release the essential oil that exists in the fruits.

– Then add the crushed fruits in a cup or in the upper part of the bowl.

– Boil the water and add it to the crushed fennel fruits.

– Leave to infuse for about ten minutes (to obtain an effective dose of active substances).

– Filter, especially if fennel fruits remain in the glass.

– Eventually, add a teaspoon of sugar or honey to improve the taste.

Posology

– Drink a cup of fennel infusion, one to three times a day. Ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice on a more personalized dosage.

– In case of colic in babies, make the baby eat a small amount (teaspoon).

– You can also add mint leaves to fennel tea. Count 1 teaspoon of dried mint leaves to a cup (200 ml). Let it infuse for ten minutes.

Grades

Optionally, add anise (green or star) for a better digestive effect, especially against bloating.
