ginseng effects

Stimulant, tonic, adaptogen, it decreases the frequency and duration of colds (according to researchers from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada – 2005).

ginseng indications

Psychic or physical fatigue , stress , convalescence, elderly people, cold , type 2 diabetes , mild to moderate erectile dysfunction, cholesterol , insomnia , anxiety , memory disorders.

Where does ginseng grow?

Ginseng is grown in Southeast Asia. The country is Korea. Ginseng is sold commercially (including pharmacies) sourced almost exclusively from the crop, which occurs mainly in China and South Korea.

In the wild ginseng grows in China, Korea, Japan and Russia.

When to harvest ginseng?

The ginseng plant grows for 4-6 years before reaching maturity. The roots are dug up in autumn.

– Ginseng is an important herb in traditional Chinese medicine, but also in traditional Indian medicine and Ayurvedic medicine.

– The term Panax, present in the scientific name of ginseng (Panax ginseng) comes from the Greek and means panacea (miraculous or universal medicine).

– In a ginseng-based treatment, it is important to regularly check your blood pressure. Diabetics must control their blood sugar too, especially since ginseng can lower the amount of sugar in the blood.

– A South Korean study showed the effectiveness of using ginseng in the treatment of mild to moderate erectile dysfunction in men. Researchers from Yonsei University College of Medicine in Seoul (South Korea) published the study at the end of 2012, in the International Journal of Impotence Research (International Journal of Research on Impotence).

– For some experts, ginseng is the most famous medicinal plant from Asia.
