Where does marjoram grow?

Marjoram is native to Asia. Currently, this plant grows in different regions of the world (Asia, Americas and Africa). Marjoram reaches a height of between 20 and 60 cm. It is an annual or biennial plant.

– Marjoram is very similar to common oregano .

– We find marjoram in the  Bouquet Garni , a selection of aromatic plants in the form of a bouquet, used in numerous culinary recipes.

– Marjoram belongs to the Herbs of Provence, such as rosemary, thyme, lavender, sage, fennel, etc. These plants grow in dry and hot conditions during the “ belle saison ”, such as in the south of France.

– During antiquity, marjoram was used as an aphrodisiac.
