The term Filipendula of the scientific name that characterizes the genus means “thread” ( Filum ) and “during” ( Pedulus ), referring to the bulbs hanging from the root. The species name ( ulmaria ) is a reference to the shape of the leaves, they look like a helmet (the Latin name is Ulmus ).

– Philippendula infusion

– Philippendula capsules or tablets

– Mother tincture (possible dosage: 30 drops in a little water to be taken 3 times a day before meals. Recommended dosage Swiss specialist in medicinal plants Claude Roggen).

Where does the filipendula grow?

The filipendula grows in Europe (eg in the Alps). The plant can reach a height of 1.5 meters in some cases. It is a perennial plant, that is, it can live for several years.

When is Philippendula harvested?

The filipendula is preferably harvested in summer. Avoid drying the filipendula on a metal surface.

Comments

– The filipendula can be found easily in the meadows of France, and together with the willow it made possible the creation of aspirin, a famous medicine against headaches, fever and other inflammatory pains. Aspirin contains a molecule, acetylsalicylic acid, which can be found in filipendula in a non-synthesized form (without acetylation). Therefore, this plant is successfully used in the treatment of chronic rheumatism, in the fight against pain and inflammation.
