sage infusion

Use

– In case of sore throat (gargle), colds .
– Against hot flashes in menopause , against excessive sweating .
– Against digestive disorders such as bloating (flatulence) .
– Against excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), the dose can go up to 3g of dry sage leaves.

Ingredients

For a cup of sage infusion, use:

– 1 teaspoon (1 to 1.5 grams) of dried sage leaves or 2 teaspoons of fresh sage leaves. If possible, shred the leaves.

– About 200 mL of water.

– Possibly sugar, honey or salt (read in Preparation below)

Preparation

– Boil the water and add it to the sage leaves (preferably dried).

– Leave to infuse for about ten minutes (to obtain an effective dose of active substances)

– Filter

Posology

– Drink a cup, several times a day, in case of a cold or sore throat (also use in the form of gargles: gargle three times a day, with the infusion).
– In case of hot flashes and excessive perspiration, it is possible to cool the tea, placing it in the refrigerator, and drink it as hot or cold tea. Drink a glass at night before going to sleep.
– Against flatulence (bloating) drink 1 cup 3 to 4 times a day.
– For generalized hyperhidrosis, drink 3 teas a day.

Comments

– Tea is contraindicated for pregnant women.
– Do not consume this tea for a long period (several months).
– According to a study published in September 2009 in the European Journal of Medical Research , the use of a spray based on echinacea and sage against acute sore throat has been shown to be as effective as a mixture of chlorhexidine and lidocaine (a classic “chemical” medicine used against sore throats).
– Against excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), scientific studies are still limited, as revealed by the American magazine Prevention in 2019.

Sage-based
foot bath When there is excessive sweating on the feet or a bad smell, you can use this tea (prepare 1L) as a foot bath. Soak your feet for about twenty minutes.

Salt against sore throat
Gargle against sore throat, instead of sugar or honey, you can add 1 quarter of a teaspoon of salt.
