Ursiberry Infusion


Against cystitis (urinary infections)


For a cup of uva ursi tea, use:

– 4 g of dried uva ursi leaves (bearberry)

– (it is also possible to add 2 g of corn hair )

– About 200 ml of water


– Heat the water until it boils and then pour the boiling water over the uva ursi leaves (and corn hair if this plant was also added)

– Let it infuse for 10 to 20 minutes (in order to obtain an effective dose of active ingredients)

– Filter


– Drink 2 to 3 cups of this tea every day (see below for a more specific dosage for urinary tract infections)

In the first 48 hours:
– Drink half a cup of this tea every 2 to 3 hours during the day (6 drinks per day). You can drink the tea hot or cold. Take a supplement of 200mg of Vitamin C every 2 to 3 hours. Remember to drink plenty of fluids during urinary tract infections – at least 230 ml every 2 hours. Typically, symptoms should improve within the first 8 to 10 hours of treatment. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 24 hours, see a doctor.

Days 3 to 5 (if symptoms have improved, otherwise consult a doctor):
– Drink half a cup of this tea 3 times a day. Take 200 mg of Vitamin C, 3 times a day. Continue to drink plenty of fluids, for example cranberry juice. After 5 days, stop drinking uva ursi tea. Take vitamin C 3 times a day for another 2-3 days.

2 days in the fridge in a closed bottle.

Practical advice – Cold tea

– As this tea can cause certain gastrointestinal side effects, it may be advisable to brew a cold tea from this mixture. To do this, steep dried uva ursi leaves for about 15 minutes in cold water, then filter. When preparing this tea with cold water, the concentration of tannins must decrease, these substances can lead to digestive problems.
