Interesting Observations

– This medicinal plant is best known in North America, mainly in the United States (Vermont). North American Indians, especially the Cherokee, have used it for a long time as, for example, to disinfect wounds.

– This plant is in danger of stretching in some parts of the United States, because a few years ago this plant was “in fashion”, which caused a high demand. Hydrast is currently less used due to serious side effects when used in high doses or for a long time.

– In the United States, goldenseal is used mainly in herbal medicine in cases of digestive disorders, mainly at the gastrointestinal level.

– Hydrast is often paired with echinacea , a popular natural product, in herbal remedies used for colds and other respiratory tract infections.
