Use
Against sore throat , hoarseness , thrush (oral mycosis) .
Ingredients
– 1 liter of water
– 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons of salt
– (possibly 1 quarter of a teaspoon of turmeric powder, this plant has an anti-inflammatory effect)
If you only want to make one dose, use a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water.
Preparation
– Mix the salt in the water
– Boil water with salt*
– Let cool
*You can also drink warm water instead of heating the mixture if you are in a hurry. In this case, just mix a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm or hot water.
Posology
– Use this preparation to gargle for at least 10 seconds several times a day if you have a sore throat, then spit it out. A gargle every 2 or 3 hours is recommended (some sources also say 3 times a day1 May 2021 Journal of Prevention [/efn_note]) until the symptoms disappear.
– In the case of thrush, wash your mouth well for a few minutes, do not swallow.
Contraindications:
Children younger than 6 years (read in Observations just below).
Grades
– This remedy is very simple to make and many people find it very effective.
– As soon as you feel a sore throat, gargle immediately.
– Salt removes excess fluid and reduces inflammation, while loosening mucus, which also helps flush out some irritants and bacteria.
– Instead of this gargle, you can also try ice cubes, sore throat sprays, lozenges or hard candy.
– Children under the age of 6 are unlikely to gargle correctly. Be careful when giving lozenges or hard candy to children as they may choke.
